JEE Advanced Answer Key 2026 Release Date: Response sheet releasing on May 21, how to calculate scores

IIT Roorkee will release the JEE Advanced Response Sheet 2026 on May 21, 2026. The JEE Advanced answer key 2026 will be released on May 25. Candidates should read this article to know how to calculate marks.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is going to release the JEE Advanced Response Sheet 2026 on May 21, 2026. Candidates can download their response sheet from the official website of JEE – jeeadv.ac.in. To download their JEE Advanced response sheet, candidates will need their registration number, mobile number and date of birth as credentials. Candidates should know that on 21 May, only the response sheet will be made available; the JEE Advanced Answer Key 2026 will be released on May 25. The objection window will be open from May 25 to May 26, 5 PM. After the declaration of the answer key, IIT Roorkee will release the final JEE Advanced Result 2026 on June 1, 2026.

Once the JEE Advanced response sheet 2026 and the JEE Advanced Answer Key 2026 both are released, candidates can calculate their JEE Advanced score. IIT Roorkee will also give a chance to raise objections to the JEE Advanced answer key. Candidates are advised to raise objections with proof within the given timeline. Once the results are declared, the JoSAA counselling for admissions to IITs will start. Admissions will be given to only those candidates who qualify for the minimum cutoff.

JEE Advanced Answer Key 2026: How to calculate scores?

The calculation systems for both paper 1 and paper 2 are different. Candidates can check below to calculate their marks.

JEE Advanced Paper 1 Marking Scheme –  

The total number of questions asked in the exam is 51. Each subject, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics has 17 questions each. There were 4 single correct questions in Paper 1. For each correct answer, students will receive 3 marks, while 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. There were 3 multiple-choice questions in the paper; for these multiple-choice questions, 4 marks are awarded for a correct answer, and 2 marks are deducted for an incorrect answer. There were 6 Numerical & Integer type questions in paper 1. For each correct answer in a numerical and integer-type question, 4 marks are awarded for a correct answer, and no marks are deducted for wrong answers. Four of the questions were from the match the column. In these, the student will receive three marks for a correct response, while an incorrect response will result in a minus one score.

JEE Advanced Paper 2 Marking Scheme:

The total number of questions asked in Paper 2 is 51. Each subject, Physics, Chemistry, & Mathematics, has 17 questions each. There were 4 single correct questions in Paper 2. For each correct answer, students receive 3 marks, while 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. There were 3 multiple-choice questions for which 4 marks are awarded for being correct, and 2 marks are deducted for being incorrect. Moreover, there were two paragraphs, and two questions from each paragraph were asked in the paper. Three marks are awarded for the correct response, and no marks are deducted for an incorrect response. Six questions of the non-negative integer type were also asked. The correct response will receive four marks, whilst the incorrect response won’t receive any marks, and there is a negative marking in such questions.

After calculating their scores, candidates can start preparing for the JoSAA counselling process. 

JEE Advanced Response Sheet 2026: Steps to download response sheet

To download the response sheet, candidates will need their registration number and date of birth. Candidates can download their response sheet by following the steps mentioned below- 

Step 1: Go to the official website of JEE Advanced 2026 – jeeadv.ac.in

Step 2: Now you have to click on the Response Sheet link available on the homepage

Step 3: Candidates will be asked to provide their registration number, mobile number, and date of birth

Step 4: Now, click on the submit button.

Step 5:The response sheet will appear on the screen

Step 6: Download your response sheet to calculate your scorecard.
