The JEE Advanced 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on May 17, 2026. The JEE Advanced exam 2026 is being administered by IIT Roorkee this year. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is set to conduct the exam in two shifts. In the first shift, Paper 1 exam will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and in the second shift, Paper 2 exam will be conducted from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates appearing for the JEE Advanced exam 2026, which is scheduled for tomorrow, must carry their admit card with them, as it is the most important thing. Without the admit card, candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

JEE Advanced 2026: Exam Guidelines to be Followed

The JEE Advanced exam 2026 follows strict guidelines that each candidate has to follow under any circumstances. The JEE Advanced exam guidelines are mentioned below – 

  •  Authorities will accept only Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, PAN Card, Driving License, or School/College ID as accepted ID proof.
  • Candidates will be allowed to enter the examination hall only when identity verification is done by the invigilators and IIT representatives.
  • The entry to the Examination centres will open from 7:00 AM IST.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter after 9:00 AM for Paper 1 and after 2:30 PM for Paper 2.
  • Each candidate has to remain inside the examination hall until each shift of the examination is over.
  • It is mandatory to appear in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 for evaluation.
  • Candidates are advised to carry their own drinking water in a transparent bottle.

Candidates need to follow the dress code strictly to avoid any unwanted situation during the JEE Advanced exam. The dress code and prohibited items for the exam are mentioned below – 

  • Candidates are advised to wear open footwear such as chappals or sandals.
  • Candidates should wear a light and simple dress.
  • Candidates should not wear Items like earrings, bracelets, Chains, necklaces, and pendants  
  • Electronic devices such as watches, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, pagers, and health bands are strictly prohibited in the examination.
