GATE COAP Counselling 2025: The GATE Common Offers Acceptance Portal (COAP) Round 2 Counselling has started from today, May 23, 2025 (10 AM). Those candidates who qualified the GATE 2025 are eligible for the option filling process, which is important for candidates to review or accept offers from participating institutes. Candidates will be able to check or accept the offers until May 25, 2025 (6 PM).
The GATE COAP counselling is conducted for those candidates who want to take admission in MTech programs in IITs. In this process of ‘option filling’ candidates have to select one option from these: “Accept and Freeze,” “Retain and Wait,” “Reject and Wait”. After completing every round of counselling, the opening and closing ranks will also be released.
COAP Round 2 Counselling 2025 Schedule
The GATE COPE counselling schedule was released by the authority. As per the official notification, the COAP round 1 counselling started on May 17, 2025 and completed on May 20, 2025. Now the COAP round 2 counselling has started online. Check the round 2 schedule here.

GATE Counselling 2025: Steps for Option Filling
Candidates can check the steps below to know the GATE COAP option filling process.
- Visit the GATE official portal – gate.iisc.ac.in/coap2025
- Log in with required credentials.
- Check the seat allotment link.
- The institute-wise seat allotment will be displayed on the screen.
- Based on the preference, candidates will have to select an option (Accept and Freeze, Retain and Wait, Reject and Wait).
