IISc Bangalore is conducting the GATE COAP 2025 counselling, as per the fixed schedule released earlier on the official website. GATE COAP Counselling Round 1 started on 17th May, from 10 AM onwards, and candidates can fill in their options until 9 AM on 20th May. Students can apply for the counselling round at gate.iisc.ac.in
The COAP registration link was activated on 27th March, 2025, soon after the declaration of the GATE results on 19th March, 2025. Candidates who have qualified in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) are eligible to take part in the counselling process, which usually happens through two modes:
- COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal): For admissions to IITs
- CCMT (Centralised Counselling for M.Tech/M.Des): For admissions to NITs and IIITs
The GATE 2025 counselling process includes multiple stages such as registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and then reporting to the allotted institute.
GATE COAP Counselling 2025 – Schedule for Counselling Rounds
In the GATE COAP Counselling 2025, from Rounds 1 to 4, candidates can choose among 3 options –
- “Accept & Freeze”
- “Retain & Wait ”, but it can only be selected twice for the same offer.
- “Reject”
If no action is taken, all offers in that round will stand rejected. Round 5 is the final decision-making round, allowing candidates to only choose from “Accept & Freeze” or “Reject” and finalise their admission. The rest of the counselling rounds schedule is mentioned below

GATE COAP Counselling 2025 – How to Apply for Counselling
To apply for GATE COAP Counselling 2025, candidates need to follow these particular steps –
- Visit the GATE COAP portal and register with the required credentials
- Once registered, candidates are required to fill and lock their choices online
- Once the choices are filled in and locked, the document verification process will begin.
- After document verification, the seat allotment result will be announced, and selected candidates must report to the allotted college.
