GATE COAP Counselling 2025: The GATE Common Offers Acceptance Portal (COAP) round 3 counselling started for those candidates who successfully qualified their GATE 2025 examination. The COAP round 3 option filling process started on May 23, 2025. According to the official notification, the last date for option filling is June 1, 2025.
The GATE COAP counselling registration 2025 was conducted online. The GATE COAP counselling is held for candidates who want to select for MTech programs in IITs. After completion of each round of counselling, opening and closing ranks will be released. On the basis of these ranks, candidates will be selected in IITs, NITs, IIITs and other institutes.

GATE Counselling 2025: Options for Offers
Candidates can now participate in the option filling process. Option filling process is crucial to check or accept the offers which candidates get from the participating institutes. In the COAP option filling process, candidates have to select one from the provided option. Check the options here;
- Accept and Freeze:
Candidates can select this option if they want to accept the offer of the institute. To select the offer, candidates will have to click on the ‘Ok’ option and then candidates will have to visit the official portal of the institute and will have to follow the procedure as mentioned on their website.
- Retain and Wait:
Candidates can select this option if they want to accept the present option but also want to wait for other better offers in next rounds. If any better option comes in the future then the current offer will be automatically removed. Candidates will have to click on the ‘ok’ option after clicking on the ‘retain and wait’ option.
- Reject all and Wait:
If candidates do not want to select any option from this round and want to wait for the better offer in the next round then candidates can select this option. Candidates just need to click on the ‘ok’ option after clicking on ‘reject all and wait’.
GATE Counselling 2025: Process
Candidates can check the below steps to know the GATE COAP counselling process;
- Check the GATE COAP official portal – gate2025.iitr.ac.in/.
- Candidates must register themselves.
- After completing the registration process, candidates must fill their choice and after filling it candidates have to lock their choice.
- After choice filling, candidates’ documents will be verified.
- Once candidates documents are verified, the seat allotment result will be declared.
- After successfully completing all the above steps, candidates will have to visit their allotted college.
