The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, (IITG), the organizing institute for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026, has extended the last date to submit the application form, without any late fee. Candidates can apply for the IIT GATE exams till October 6, 2025 now. However, with a late fee of additional INR 500, the registration window will remain open till October 9, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates must apply through the official website– gate2026.iitg.ac.in, before the deadline to avoid late fee charges.
The GATE application form can be filled entirely online. To apply, candidates must register on the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS), upload required documents (such as scanned photograph, signature, category certificate if applicable, and qualifying degree certificate) and pay the application fee. For male candidates of General, OBC, EWS categories the application fee is Rs. 2000, while for female candidates and those from SC/ST/PwD categories, the fee is Rs. 1000.
