The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has announced that the GATE 2026 registration deadline has been extended. While the original closing date for the regular registration without late fee has been extended to October 6, 2025, aspirants can now submit their application with a late fee until October 9, 2025. This extension provides a breathing space to students who missed the initial window.
The GATE 2026 examinations are scheduled to be held on February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026 across multiple test centres in India and abroad. With this in mind, the authorities have emphasised that the final registration deadline on October 9, 2025, will not be extended further. The GATE registration fee for female/SC/ST/ PwD category is Rs. 1000 and for all the other candidates including foreign nationals is Rs. 2000. The GATE exam fee with late fee for the female/SC/ST/PwD category candidates is Rs. 1500 and for all the other candidates including foreign nationals is Rs. 2500.
