The National Testing Agency (NTA) is soon going to release the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026. CUET UG 2026 Answer Key: Understand the marking scheme
The conducting body, the National Testing Agency, provided a set of guidelines for the marking scheme every year for the CUET UG exams. According to the official information, the following can be used by the candidates to check the marking scheme for CUET UG 2026 exam:
- For each correct answer, candidates will be awarded five marks.
- For an incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.
- For the unanswered or marked for review questions, no marks will be given.
- If more than one option is found to be correct, then five marks will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
- If all options are found to be correct, then five marks will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
- If none of the options is found correct, or a question is found to be wrong, or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks.
Candidates who are not satisfied with the answer key are given a chance to challenge the provisional answer key. NTA charges a certain amount as a fee for each answer challenged by the candidate. Only paid challenges are taken into consideration. Those candidates who challenge the answer key also have to provide a justification or proof supporting their challenge. CUET UG Answer Key 2026: How to check provisional answer key?
Candidates can follow the procedure given below to challenge the CUET UG 2026 answer key.
- Visit the CUET exam page on the NTA website – cuet.nta.nic.in.
- Find the link for CUET UG 2026 Answer Key Challenge in the latest news section.
- Log in with your Application Number and Date of Birth.
- Go to the Question ID that you would like to challenge and select the correct answer.
- Upload the document supporting your answer by clicking on ‘Choose File’ and selecting your file.
- Click on ‘Submit and Review Claims’ and your claim will be displayed.
- Make the payment of Rs. 200 per question.
- Submit the form and save the receipt.
Candidates challenging the CUET UG 2026 Answer Key are required to pay a non-refundable fee for the question challenged. Rs 200 needs to be paid by the candidate per question.
