The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had announced under its official exam schedule notice on May 8, 2026, that today, i.e. June 10, 2026, is the last day to register for the upcoming Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET 2026) Exam. According to the official notice shared by CBSE, the examination will be conducted on September 6, 2026, and the last chance to register is today, up to 11:59 PM. Candidates who have not applied for the CTET 2026 Exam yet can do so in online mode through the official websites provided by CBSE – ctet.nic.in and cbse.gov.in.
The last day to submit the fee for the CTET 2026 Application Form is also June 10, 2026, till 11:59 PM. Candidates are advised to thoroughly check all necessary details and to complete the application process before midnight. CBSE will officially close the registration window for the September examination of CTET 2026 on the official website after the last date, and no registrations will be taken after it. As per the regulatory body, all the candidates who are applying should meet the eligibility criteria, as if they fail to meet the requirements, their candidature will be cancelled.
CTET 2026 Last day to Register: Check Eligibility Criteria
Candidates appearing for the CTET 2026 September examination are advised to go through the eligibility criteria before submitting their application. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) prescribes the eligibility criteria for both CTET Paper I and CTET Paper II. Factors such as age limit, education qualification, qualifying marks, nationality and reservation norms are considered in the eligibility criteria. - Candidates must be Indian citizens and bare minimum 18 years of age in order to be eligible for CTET 2026.
- There is no maximum age limit as per the NCTE.
- Candidates should also note that the eligibility factors for both Paper I and Paper II are different. Candidates are advised to double-check all necessary eligibility details regarding the paper for which they wish to appear.
- Candidates must fulfill the eligibility requirements of both the papers if they wish to appear for both.
- Candidates must ensure that they check through all the details and submit their application form along with the fee by midnight of June 10 2026.
The correction window for the CTET application form will open on June 15, 2026 and will be closed by June 18, 2026. Candidates will not be allowed to make any corrections after the above date.
CTET Registration 2026: Application fees for the September session
Once candidates have filled in all the necessary details in the application form and uploaded all essential documents, they are required to pay the application fees to complete the registration. Following is the fee breakdown for the CTET 2026 Application:

In short, candidates must note that if they wish to appear for both papers, then the fees will be Rs 1000 for the General/ OBC category and Rs 600 for SC/ST/Diff Abled category. Whereas if they wish to appear for only one paper, then the fees will be Rs 1000 for General/OBC and Rs 500 for ST/SC/Differently Abled category.
CTET 2026 Exam: Know the exam pattern
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) sets the CTET Examination Pattern. Candidates can download the CTET 2026 Exam Pattern from the official websites ctet.nic.in, and cbse.gov.in. The exam pattern for CTET Paper I is different from CTET Paper II. Candidates are advised to do a thorough check on the exam patterns for the papers for which they are appearing.
For both papers in CTET 2026, 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) will be given. Each question will carry 1 mark with no negative marking for any wrong or unattempted answers. CTET, this year, will be conducted in online mode, and the questions will be conceptual in nature. CBSE has not set any limitations on choosing any papers as of yet, and candidates can appear for either one or both papers if they wish to.
