The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the official notification for the Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2025, opening the online registration window from September 25, 2025, to October 24, 2025. Candidates must complete the application within this period to be eligible for the upcoming exam. The deadline for the successful transaction of the application fee is October 25, 2025, also up to 11:50 P.M. For candidates needing to make corrections in their submitted form, NTA will open a correction window from October 27 to October 29, 2025.
The CSIR NET December 2025 exam is set to be conducted on December 18, 2025 in two shifts: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and 3.00 PM to 6.00 PM. The CSIR UGC NET registration is being done through the CSIR NET portal csirnet.nta.nic.in. Applicants are required to fill out their personal, academic and contact details, choose subject and exam centre preference. It is important to note that each candidate can apply for only one subject from the listed disciplines.

CSIR UGC NET 2025 Registration Process
The application forms must be submitted online from September 25 to October 24, 2025. The steps to fill out the CSIR NET Application Form are given below:
Step 1: Visit the official CSIR NET website
Step 2: Under the “Latest News” section, click the link titled “Joint CSIR-UGC NET Registration open”
Step 3: Fill in the required details to register. You will receive your application number and password on your registered mobile number.
Step 4: Now candidates need to log in using the provided credentials and fill out the application form accurately
Step 5: Upload all the documents as per the specifications.
Step 6: After this, proceed to the payment section and pay the fee using credit card, Debit card or UPI.
Step 7: Double check the application fee and once the candidate is satisfied then only they should submit the application form.
NTA CSIR NET 2025 Eligibility
In order to appear for the exam, candidates must fulfil the following CSIR NET eligibility in terms of their age and qualifications.
- General/ Unreserved/ General-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from recognized universities/ institutions are eligible for this Test.
- The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer/Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Persons with Disability (PwD)/ Third gender category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this test.
- The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination have been completed by 19 September 1991shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.
Upper Age Limit: Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
- Maximum Age: 30 years as on the 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded.
- A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to candidates belonging to OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender categories and to women applicants.
Assistant Professor
- No upper age limit
Admission to PhD
- There is no upper age limit in applying for Joint CSIR-UGC-NET for admission to PhD.
- The applicants must have completed a Masters degree or equivalent examination from recognized universities/ institutions.
