CSIR NET Exam 2025: The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), known for its cutting-edge R&D knowledge base in diverse S&T areas, is a contemporary R&D organisation. The notification for CSIR UGC NET 2025 is to be released soon at the official website csirnet.nta.ac.in. The tentative date for the release of the notification is said to be May 2025.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will also release the CSIR NET application form along with the notification. Those candidates who wish to appear in the CSIR NET exam 2025 will have to register themselves for the exam by submitting their academic and personal credentials. CSIR NET Exam 2025: Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates who want to apply for the CSIR NET exam must hold a Master’s degree in Life, Chemical, Physical, Mathematical, or Earth Sciences from a recognised university. The General and OBC applicants must have a minimum of 55% marks, whereas SC, ST, and PwD applicants need 50% to qualify the exam. Final-year students are eligible to apply for the exam but they have to finish their degree within two years to be eligible for JRF. The maximum age limit for JRF is 28 years, with a relaxation of 5 years for SC, ST, and PwD, and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer). There is no age limit for the Lectureship and Assistant Professorship. Candidates are advised to check the CSIR NET eligibility criteria to prevent themselves from being disqualified from the CSIR NET exam.

CSIR NET 2025 registration procedure is an important step for the candidates who want to qualify for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor posts. Candidates can apply online through the official CSIR NET website of NTA. The procedure involves several steps, and precision is essential to prevent mistakes that can disqualify a candidate from the examination.

  • Click on “New Registration” and go through instructions.
  • Register by providing basic details and make a password.
  • Take note of the application number generated.
  • Login by application number and password.
  • Provide the application form with personal, academic, and exam information.

  • Upload scanned photo, signature, and certificates (if any).
  • Pay application fee online (Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI).

CSIR NET Exam 2025: Syllabus 

CSIR NET 2025 Syllabus covers five major subjects:

  • Chemical Sciences: Topics include organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry, chemical bonding, reaction mechanisms, quantum chemistry, and spectroscopy.
  • Life Sciences: Includes cell biology, genetics, ecology, evolution, physiology, along with molecular biology, biotechnology, and bioinformatics.
  • Physical Sciences: Encompasses mechanics, quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, thermodynamics, plus nuclear, particle, and condensed matter physics.
  • Mathematical Sciences: Covers algebra, analysis, topology, differential equations, functional analysis, linear programming, and numerical methods.
  • Earth Sciences: Includes geology, geophysics, meteorology, oceanography, planetary science, seismology, and atmospheric and oceanic processes.

CSIR NET Exam Pattern 2025 

The CSIR NET 2025 examination contains three parts: Part A (general aptitude with reasoning, graphical analysis, and quantitative ability), Part B (subject-based conceptual questions), and Part C (advanced problem-solving questions). The examination will be conducted in MCQ format and last for 3 hours (180 minutes) for a total of 200-250 marks based on the subject. Negative marking is applicable for Part A and B, whereas, no negative marking is applicable to Part C though questions are difficult.
