The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the provisional answer keys for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 on December 10, 2025. The NLUs conducted the CLAT 2026 exam for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) levels on December 7, 2025, across 156 centres in 25 States, 93 cities, and four Union Territories.
The Consortium has released the CLAT 2026 Provisional Answer Key on its official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in, at 5:00 PM. Candidates who wish to raise objections against the questions or the provisional answer key(s) may do so through the designated portal. The objection submission window will open at 5:00 PM on December 10, 2025 and will close on December 12, 2025, at 5:00 PM.
CLAT 2026 Answer Key: How to Raise Objections?
The CLAT 2026 objection window has been activated alongside the release of the CLAT 2026 answer keys, requiring candidates to pay Rs 1,000 per question challenged. Follow the steps given below to object to any question or provisional answer key.
- Go to the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
- Select “CLAT 2026 Provisional Answer Key.”
- The CLAT 2026 answer key and response sheet will be available on screen.
- Select the question you want to challenge.
- Upload supporting proof and pay the CLAT 2026 objection fee of Rs. 500.
Candidates are advised to submit the challenge before the deadline. The CLAT 2026 objection window will close on December 12, 2025, at 5:00 PM. A fee of Rs. 500 is to be paid for each objection. If the objection is found to be valid and sustained, the said fee will be refunded to the same account from which it was paid.
CLAT 2026 UG and PG Answer Key: Next Steps
The consortium of NLUs will prepare the CLAT 2026 final answer key based on the objections raised against the provisional answer key of CLAT 2026. Based on this, the exam conducting body will release the CLAT 2026 results for admission into various LLB and LLM programmes across the participating universities of CLAT 2026.
The NLUs will begin the CLAT 2026 counselling process soon after the CLAT 2026 result is out. The consortium will release the CLAT counselling notification 2026 at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The counselling process of CLAT 2026 is completely online.
The CLAT 2026 exam recorded a significant turnout, with 96.83% of undergraduate applicants and 92.45% of postgraduate applicants appearing for the test. The CLAT exam also saw the participation of 548 candidates under the PwD category.
