In a recent development, the Maharashtra State CET Cell proposed a hike in MHT CET 2026 Registration Fee. The CET Cell is planning to increase the registration fee within a range of Rs 150 to Rs 250. Currently, the exam authority charges Rs 500-600 for the pen-and-paper mode and Rs 800 to Rs 1,000 for the CBT, depending on the subject. The proposal has been sent to the state’s higher and technical education department for approval.
If approved, over 15 lakh candidates will be required to pay the revised registration fees to apply for MHT CET 2026 exam. The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, conducts the MHT CET exam for students who wish to secure admission to B.Tech and B.Arch programs in the government and private colleges of Maharashtra.
MHT CET 2026 Registration: Proposed revised fees
At present, students’ fees pay between 800 to 1000 for the CET Entrance Exam, depending on the course. If the proposal is accepted by the authority, the registration fees for MHT CET 2026 can be increased in the manner given below.

MHT CET 2026: Registration starting soon
With this update, we can anticipate that the State Common Entrance Test Cell is in the process to the start the MHT CET Registration 2026. As per last year’s pattern, the conducting body will start the MHT CET registration process by the end of December 2025. Aspirants who meet the eligibility criteria can fill out the MHT CET Application Form 2026 at cetcell.mahacet.org using their registration number, password, and other login credentials. From this year, the MHT CET will be conducted twice a year, in line with JEE Mains.
The MHT CET Exam Dates 2026 have also been announced by the CET Cell. For the PCM group, the session 1 exam is scheduled to be held from April 11 to 19, 2026, and the second session exam will be conducted from May 14 to 17, 2026. The first session examination for PCB 2026 will be conducted from April 21 to April 26, 2026, and the second session exam for PCB is set to be conducted from May 10 to 11, 2026.
