The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has officially released the CEED 2026 notification, marking the commencement of the application process for the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED). Prospective candidates can apply online from October 1, 2025, through the dedicated CEED portal. The CEED application form fee will be around INR 4,000 for the general category and INR 2,000 for Reserved category and female of all categories. The CEED exam will be conducted on January 18, 2026.
CEED exam is a national-level exam conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to the M.Des course. The exam is conducted once every academic year. Candidates who are allocated a merit rank in CEED will have to apply directly to the participating institute based on their scores. IIT Bombay (IITB), IIT Delhi (IITD), IIT Guwahati (IITG), IIT Hyderabad (IITH), IIT Indore (IITI), IIT Roorkee (IITR), and IIITDM Jabalpur (IIITDMJ), etc., are participating institutes. CEED is conducted in two parts, Part A and Part B. Part A is computer-based, and Part B is in offline mode. It is conducted to test the drawing and design aptitude of candidates.

Steps To Fill Out CEED Application Form 2026
Candidates can check the given steps below to fill out their application form:
Step 1: Online Registration- Click on the registration link. You will be redirected to the registration form. Fill in details like a valid email ID, name, date of birth and mobile number. An applicant account will be created.
Step 2: Check Eligibility- The candidate has to undergo an eligibility check process, wherein he/she has to enter their qualifying exam, passing year, and mobile number.
Step 3: Fill in the Form- The application form will have three sections, like personal, academic and contact details. Fill in all the sections. Candidates will also be required to select 3 exam cities from the drop-down menu. Select exam cities in the order of priority.
Step 4: Upload The Documents- The candidates have to upload documents like a photograph, signature and qualifying exam certificates in the prescribed format.
Step 4: Pay the application fee- Before paying the application fee, the candidate needs to confirm that the CEED application form is complete in all respects. The application fee for CEED 2026 will be paid online using net banking or credit, or debit cards.
