CBSE Board Exam 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is planning to conduct CBSE Board exams for class 10 twice a year from the next academic year 2025-26 with a significant compression in the exam schedule.
Currently, the CBSE Board prepares the CBSE class 10 exam timetable in such a way that no two subjects chosen by a student fall on the same date. This results in a month-long schedule with gaps ranging from three to ten days between exams at times. This year, the CBSE started the CBSE Class 10 exams 2025 on February 15 and are scheduled to be concluded on March 18, 2025.
However, if the biannual system is introduced, the CBSE Board may need to significantly shorten the gap between exams to ensure both exams are conducted and results are declared by June.
The Education Ministry has asked the Board to share a draft on how the two exams will be held in the public domain for feedback. CBSE exams will likely continue to commence in February due to severe winter conditions in some regions, with results being announced in March—two months earlier than the current schedule. While the second exam would likely be conducted in early May with results being declared in June. For CBSE class 12 students, the system will only be considered on the basis of the experience of holding two exams for class 10 students.
