On 2nd May, 2025, the CBSE Board issued a new update on their official website, stating a major change in the sequence of post-result activities for Class X and Class XII students. As per the new guidelines, the change will be incorporated from this year, starting with the CBSE Board Results 2025. Students will now receive a photocopy of their evaluated answer sheets before they can apply for re-evaluation of marks.

This step is intended to promote greater fairness and transparency between the CBSE Board and students, ensuring that candidates have the opportunity to review their CBSE Board answer sheets before requesting a re-check. It will help students to reduce unnecessary re-evaluation requests.
CBSE Post Result Process 2025 – All That You Need To Know
CBSE had a well-structured three-step Post Result grievance redressal system, which included verification of marks, obtaining photocopies of evaluated answer books, and finally re-evaluation, in that order. But according to the new guidelines, students will first have to apply for a photocopy of their evaluated answer book before moving on to the next steps — verification of marks or re-evaluation. This will give the candidates clarity on the marks awarded, specific comments, or any errors made in their CBSE Board Results.

Once a candidate receives the photocopy of their evaluated answer book, they can choose what to do next. They can either go for Verification of Marks or choose Re-evaluation, where a specific question or a set of questions is rechecked. A candidate can apply either of the two or both procedures.
