The CBSE Class 10 maths paper is set to be conducted on February 17, 2026. The theory paper is of 80 marks and the remaining 20 marks is for Internal Assessment/Practical.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the CBSE 10th exam dates 2026 on the official website. The CBSE class 10th Mathematics examination will be conducted on February 17, 2026. The practical examination 2026 for class X is scheduled between January 1 to February 14, 2026. Students have an option to choose between Basic and Standard paper for the subject of Mathematics in CBSE class 10 exam 2026. 

The Basic Mathematics paper of CBSE Class 10 examination 2026 is designed as per the basic level for students who do not wish to take maths in higher classes.  The questions in the basic maths exam will be relatively simpler in comparison to the Standard Mathematics exam. The CBSE 10th Standard Maths exam will be for students aiming to take maths as a subject in higher class that is in class 11 and 12.

Students are advised to check CBSE 10th Exam Pattern 2026 for thorough preparation. The theory paper of class 10 mathematics exam will be of 80 marks and the Internal Assessment or Practical examination is of 20 marks summing up to a total of 100 marks.

Class X Board Examination Mathematics Syllabus 2026

There are total of 7 units in the CBSE Class 10 syllabus 2026 and each unit consists of different topics and have different weightage.

  • Unit I is Number System that includes Number System that consists of Real Number topics with a total Real Number topics with a total weightage of 6 marks.
  • Unit II of maths syllabus is Algebra which includes Polynomials, Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables, Quadratic Equations and Arithmetic Progressions which combine to a total of 20 marks. 
  • Unit III is Coordinate Geometry with a total weightage of 6 marks.
  • The Unit IV is Geometry with total marks 15 with topics like Circle and Triangle under it.
  • The Unit V is Trigonometry which is of 12 marks.
  • The unit VI and VII are Mensuration and Statistics and Probability with 10 and 11 marks in total.
