CBSE Class 10 Social Science Exam Analysis 2026: Here’s what experts have to say
According to the reviews and in-depth analysis that we received from subject experts or educators of different CBSE schools, we could gather the following points.
- Priyanka Swami (TGT-Social Science, KIIT World School, Gurugram) told us that the CBSE Social Science Question Paper 2026 followed the same section-wise pattern and structure as that suggested in the official sample papers. As per her, the overall difficulty level of the board exam was moderate. Many questions asked in the exam were directly taken from the NCERT textbooks. The Economics section in the question paper was scoring, while the Political Science section consisted of good comparison-based questions which tested the conceptual understanding of students. In Geography, almost all questions were concept-based. She added that those students who had prepared thoroughly from the textbook and sample papers would be able to attempt the questions more confidently.
- Mr. Gaurav Singh (TGT SST, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Lucknow) said that the question paper for the academic session 2025-26 was well-balanced and properly aligned with the prescribed syllabus and exam pattern. He commented that the objective section had both direct and concept-based questions. Students required clear conceptual understanding in order to answer the short-answer-type and long-answer-type questions. The map-based questions from Geography and History were doable for students who prepared the subject well. As per him the exam was not lengthy as many students could complete the paper within the given time.
- Vishwajeet Pandey (TGT) and Pratibha Shinghal (TGT) at JAIN International Residential School (JIRS), Bengaluru in their joint statement explained that the exam was overall easy to moderate in difficulty level. The exam followed a well-balanced structure and was aligned with the CBSE curriculum. While many questions were straightforward, some questions also tested conceptual clarity of the student. The exam majorly covered the four sections of History, Geography, Political Science (Civics), and Economics. In a nutshell, the question paper was student friendly, enabling many well-prepared students to score well.
