CBSE Class 10th and 12th board exam 2025 starts from today, February 15, 2025. The Central Board of Secondary Education exam for both classes is conducted in a single shift with 3-hour duration. As per the rules, extra 15 minutes are provided to the students to read the question paper carefully. This year, it is expected that almost 42 to 44 lakh students will appear in the exam across 7,842 centres in India and 26 countries abroad.
Students must have 75% attendance to appear in the CBSE board exam 2025. Candidates must remember to carry their CBSE admit card along with their school ID card to the examination center. No candidates are allowed to appear in the exam without their admit card. In the admit card some important details are mentioned such as – roll number, exam center, examination timing and some other important details.
According to the official CBSE 2025 date sheet, the CBSE 10th exam 2025 starts with English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) and CBSE 12th Exam 2025 starts with an entrepreneurship paper. The timing of the examination is 10:30 AM to 01:30 PM.

CBSE Boards Class 10th and 12th Guidelines
Candidates must check the below given guidelines and ensure not to forget these during CBSE examination:
- Reach at Time
Candidates must ensure to reach the examination center at least 25-30 minutes before the examination to avoid last minute issues.
- Don’t Carry Items that CBSE Banned –
Candidates are advised not to carry items which are restricted by the CBSE such as – Smart Watch, Mobile or any other kind of electrical gadget. If any candidate is found with this type of gadget he/she will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
- Follow Rules –
During examination candidates have to maintain discipline such as – stay quiet, be focused to maintain a smooth exam process.
- Carry Your Own Stationery –
Candidates must remember to carry their own stationery to the examination centre, they will not be allowed to ask for stationary at the examination room.
- Reading and Writing Guidelines –
Candidates will get 15 minutes to read the question paper and throughout the examination candidates only use a ‘blue or black’ pen in the answer sheet.
