The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the CBSE Board Exam draft for dual examination for Class 10 students in 2026. As per the initial draft released by the board, the CBSE board exam will be conducted in February and May for 10th board students. The official notice released by CBSE on its official website states that the draft policy was developed after wider discussions. The board has also released the CBSE exam dates for the next year’s 10th board examinations. The draft is open to suggestions from the stakeholders till March 9, 2025. The suggestions and feedback will be scrutinized for final draft formation.
CBSE Board Dual Examination 2026 – Highlights

- According to the initial estimate, over 26 lakh candidates will appear for the CBSE 10th board exams next year.
- The dual examination will be conducted on the full current syllabus and textbooks
- Except Science, Hindi, Social Science, English, and Maths – all subjects are grouped in the following manner:
- A Regional and Foreign languages in one group
- Rest of the subjects in another group
- Examination of Science, Maths, Social Science, Hindi, and English will be conducted on a fixed day as currently.
- Examination of regional and foreign languages will be done in one go on a single day.
- Examination of remaining subjects will be conducted 2-3 times over 2-3 days based on the group of subjects opted by students. The date of examination cannot be chosen by candidates.
