CBSE Board 2026 Exam: Psycho-social counselling support announced for class 10th, 12th board students

The CBSE is all set to start its first phase of annual free Psycho-Social Counselling Services from January 06, 2026 for all the 10th and 12th Class students who will be appearing for their CBSE Board 2026 Exam.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be commencing the first phase of its annually conducted free Psycho-Social Counselling Services to ensure mental and holistic well-being of students who have their CBSE Board 2026 Exam. This counselling will start from today i.e. January 06, 2026 and will be active till June 01, 2026, after the CBSE 10th, 12th result 2026. The CBSE Board Examination for the session 2025-26 is scheduled from February 17, 2026.

This initiative of launching counselling services has been made to help students cope up with mental pressure of their upcoming CBSE Exam 2026 Class 10 and CBSE Exam 2026 Class 12. It is often noticed that during the board examinations, students undergo immense academic and societal pressure which in turn deteriorates their mental as well as physical health. The introduced CBSE counselling facility helps students to overcome these feelings and approach the CBSE Exam 2026 in a strategic manner. 

CBSE Board 2026 Exam: Key Points on Psycho-Social Counselling Support

  1. 24×7 Toll-Free IVRS (1800-11-8004)

Under the initiative, a CBSE counselling number has been launched which will be available 24 x 7 to help students during their preparation. Students can call on the provided helpline number – 1800-11-8004 anytime. The support system is language friendly i.e students can speak in both Hindi and English.

 Exam Alert Plus

The Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) guides CBSE EXAM 2026 students to develop a Stress-free exam preparation, how to master time and stress management, provide answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) and also give important CBSE-related contact information.

  1. Tele-Counselling Services 

A tele-counselling service has also been installed for students and their parents which will be available every Monday to Friday starting from 09:30 A.M. till  05:30 P.M. In the counselling session both parents and students of CBSE Board 2026 Exam for Class 10 and Class 12 can interact with 73 trained professionals. The list of professionals includes School Principals, Counselors, Special Educators and Qualified Psychologists.

Among the counselors, 61 are from India and around 12 counselors are based in Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and UAE. This free counselling services for CBSE Exam 2026 will be provided on a voluntary basis. The aim for this facility is to offer boards exam students with personalized guidance and mental health support.

  1.  Digital Resources 

CBSE has also published many digital resources on their official website- cbse.gov.in. Students preparing for CBSE Exam 2026 can visit the website to access the carefully chosen resources on topics like stress management, effective study strategies and emotional well-being. These resources are available at the online portal anytime for students as a self-help and guidance tool. 

Through such initiatives, CBSE encourages the Class 10 and Class 12 students to appear in the upcoming CBSE Exam 2026 with confidence and mental stability.
