The official notice for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 is now out. The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), under the supervision of IIM Kozhikode, have officially released the CAT notification. This exam is held every year for students who want to study at top business schools in India, including the IIM.
CAT 2025 will take place on the last Sunday of November 2026 (November 30). The CAT application form will be available from August 1, 2025, and the deadline for application is September 3, 2025.
CAT 2025 – Who Can Apply?
Students wishing to appear for the CAT exam this year can check the following eligibility requirements
- Candidates must have finished their graduation (bachelor’s degree) from a recognised college or university.
- They should have at least 50% marks if you belong to the general category. For SC, ST, and PwD categories, 45% is enough.
- Final-year graduation students can also apply.
- There is no age limit to appear for the test.
Individuals with professional qualifications, such as CA, CS, or ICWA, are also eligible to apply.
CAT 2025 – Application Fee
- For General/OBC/EWS category: ₹2,400 – ₹2,500
- For SC/ST/Pw D category: ₹1,200 – ₹1,250
The fee must be paid online and is non-refundable.
CAT Application Form 2025 – Steps to apply
Students must check the steps to apply for the CAT exam 2026
- Go to the website iimcat.ac.in to apply
- Register using your email or phone number
- Fill out your personal and educational details as requested (please ensure the details in the application form are correct, as incorrect details will result in rejection.)
- Upload a photo, your signature and other required certificates in the prescribed format
- Choose the cities where you want to take the exam
- Pay the registration fee and submit your form.
CAT Exam Pattern 2025
- The exam is computer-based with a duration of 2 hours.
- It has three major sections:
- English and Reading
- Data and Reasoning
- And Mathematics
- Candidates get 40 minutes to attempt each section
Some questions will have options, and some won’t. You get marks for correct answers, but marks will be cut if you choose a wrong one (only for multiple-choice questions). Negative marking is there for Multiple Choice Questions.
