Aadhaar Authentication not Compulsory for MHT CET 2026 Registration: CET Cell

Via an official notice, the CET Cell has announced that Aadhaar and APAAR authentication is no longer compulsory for the MHT CET 2026 Registration. Those who are unable to do the authentication will be provided with the necessary facilitation measures.

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has recently announced that the MHT CET 2026 Registration no longer mandates the Aadhaar and APAAR Authentication. The necessary facilitation measures will be provided for candidates who fail to do so to ensure that no eligible candidate is inconvenienced or deprived of filling out the registration form. Candidates who are unable to complete Aadhaar and APAAR authentication due to technical or other genuine issues may proceed with filling and submitting the application form on the CET 2026 registration portal without Aadhaar and APAAR authentication. This facility is activated from February 13, 2026, onwards. 

The MHT CET 2026 Exam, administered by the CET Cell, will be conducted for the PCB and PCM streams. For the PCM group, the session 1 exam is scheduled to be held from April 11 to 19, 2026, and the second session exam will be conducted from May 14 to 17, 2026. The first session examination for PCB 2026 will be conducted from April 21 to April 26, 2026, and the second session exam for PCB is set to be conducted from May 10 to 11, 2026.  Aadhaar authentication continues to be the preferred mode of verification for CET 2026 registration. Candidates who are able to complete the CET registration form using Aadhaar and APAAR authentication shall continue to follow the pre-notified registration process.

MHT CET 2026 Registration: Documents Required

While filling out the MHT CET 2026 application form, candidates have to upload certain documents. They can refer to the list below for the same.

  • Class X Marksheet
  • Class XII Marksheet
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile Certificate
  • Scanned images of the candidate’s photograph & signature
  • Aadhar Card or any other Valid ID proof

Please note that Aadhar and APAAR Authentication remain the preferred method; however, not compulsory.
