For the 2026 academic cycle, the stakes have transcended mere academic knowledge. With approximately 215,000 applicants and only a small number of available seats at VIT’s campuses, VITEEE represents one of the most highly competitive forms of examination ever created for students vying for admission to higher education institutions in India.

Chemistry: The Strategic Time Reserve
In the economy of the VITEEE, chemistry is your most valuable currency. This section consists of 35 questions (worth 140 marks). A candidate who has prepared properly should expect to complete all of the chemistry questions in about 25 to 28 minutes, thus giving them an extra 15 minutes to spend on the mathematics part, which is more demanding.
Organic chemistry is the cornerstone here, often making up 40% of the section. Aspirants must focus on name reactions, reactivity orders, and oxygen/nitrogen-containing compounds. Inorganic chemistry, specifically coordination compounds and p-block elements, offers direct, “know-it-or-don’t” questions that require zero calculation time. Physical chemistry topics like chemical kinetics and electrochemistry should be practised until the formulas are second nature, ensuring that the 72-second clock never becomes a source of panic.
The English and Aptitude Edge
Often dismissed as “minor” sections, English (5 questions) and Aptitude (10 questions) together account for 60 marks. These 15 questions are the best place to earn points in a negative-marking environment. The Aptitude section tests your logical reasoning ability by asking you to solve problems using reasoning based upon syllogisms, charts and graphs, and number sequences. You do not need to be an expert in these subjects; however, you must possess the capacity to think clearly and logically.
The English section is equally straightforward, testing basic grammar, vocabulary, and short-passage comprehension. Statistically, students who score above 50 out of 60 in this combined section have a significantly higher probability of entering the top 2% of candidates. Ignoring these marks is a strategic blunder that no thought leader in the education space would recommend. They are the “easily achievable goals” that provide a massive boost to your percentile with minimal preparation time.

Tactical Preparation
