JoSAA Seat Matrix 2025: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is a centralised platform for admission in India’s top IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The JoSAA releases the seat matrix every year for most of the engineering institutions. This year, there are a total of 62,853 seats available across all IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Out of 62,853 seats available across all participating institutions, there are 3,310 seats reserved for female supernumerary. After the completion of JEE, JoSAA releases the admission cutoff to get into the Institutions. JoSAA is the conducting body for the entire admission process. In 2025, JoSAA released 18,160 seats for IITs, 24,525 seats for NITs, 9,940 seats for IIITs, and 10,228 seats for GFTIs. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)
There are a total of 23 IITs in India. IITs are regarded as the best institutes for technical and engineering courses. IITs are the first choice of any candidate who appeared for the JEE exam. JoSAA releases cutoff for admission in IITs. Candidates who fall under the released cutoff bracket can easily get admission into IITs. National Institute of Technology (NIT)
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) was established under the National Institute of Technology Act, 2007. The act provides for instruction and research in engineering, technology, management, education, sciences, and arts. There are a total of 31 NITs in India as of 2025. Indian Institute of Information and Technology (IIIT)
There are 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) in India as of 2024, and they are all focused on teaching computer science and IT. Some of these organizations are centrally funded, while others follow the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model of governance. To get admission into IIITs, candidates must qualify for the JEE exam. After the JEE exams, candidates must have secured the desired rank for admission in IIIT. JoSAA releases the admission cutoff and seat matrix for interested candidates. Central universities, state-run institutions, and deemed universities are all included in the category of colleges known as Government Funded Technical Institutes, or GFTIs. This list includes well-known institutions like Gurukul Kangri, PEC Chandigarh, and Assam University. As of 2025, there are over 30 of these institutions nationwide, providing high-quality instruction in a range of technical subjects.
