The Department of Mass Media, Kishinchand Chellaram College, HSNC University, Mumbai, is set to host their International Film Festival on 29th January. Along with it, the 23rd edition of the largest intercollegiate media festival, Blitzkrieg, will be held on 30th and 31st January 2026. The fest will be witnessing participation from 15+ colleges and a grand rotational footfall of 6000+ attendees.
This year’s Blitzkrieg will bring back the legacy of old Kingdoms lost in history, hence the theme “The Echoes of the Lost Kingdoms”. Each college will be presenting itself as one lost Kingdom.
The ‘International Film Festival’ has received a total of 150 film entries under 4 categories, including 21 international films, which will be screened from countries like France, Brazil, Spain and Indonesia. It also includes an Oscar-nominated French short film, and there will also be films from different regional languages.
The two days of Blitzkrieg 2026 will feature education and entertainment-based media events inspired by media academics, turning them into hands-on experiences along with events like fashion shows, debate, Boiler Room DJ and concluding with an electric live band and energetic dance performances.
Ms Surya Gune, convenor of Blitzkrieg 2026, said, “The International Film Festival, introduced two years ago, enters its third edition this year and has received around 150 film entries from filmmakers worldwide. Blitzkrieg ’26 will see participation from nearly 15 Mumbai colleges across 20 – 25 student-curated events covering filmmaking, journalism, advertising, public relations, and other media disciplines. We are truly looking forward to the festival.”
This fest is meant to be a grand celebration of cinema, effective learning application, creativity and entertainment.
