CAT 2025: Eligibility
To become eligible to sit for the CAT exam, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 50% of marks for general categories or 45% of marks for SC, ST, and PwD categories (the degree can be in any discipline, including professional degrees such B.Tech or B.E, if degree is recognized by the UGC). The candidate can also be a final-year undergraduate student, given that the degree is completed before the admission process.
There is no upper age limit for CAT eligibility. Also, while work experience is not mandatory, IIMs and other institutes that participate in CAT may take work experience into account during the admission process. Candidates can appear for the exam even if they have backlogs, but complete their degree requirements within the time specified delay. In addition, candidates with disabilities (minimum of 40%) require a valid disability certificate (should be certified under a competent medical authority) so that any reservation benefits can be claimed. CAT 2025: Understanding Syllabus
